Green roof quashed due to extra cost

Asheville city has quashed the idea of a green roof as the council moved this week to install a new plastic roof on the Asheville Civic Center. The green roof idea was dropped as the $1.5million extra cost over a traditional roof. The extra cost was due to the existing truss structure having to be modified to support the new green roof.
